At Lima-Brighton we work hard to communicate as much as possible with our families. Here is a summary of our primary methods of communication:
All students have a "Friday Folder" this folder has a pocket for keep at home papers and return to school papers. In some grades they only come home on Friday and in other grades they come home more often. Any flyers about camps, programs, etc will go home in these folders. All teachers create weekly newsletters to keep you up to date on classroom happenings. The Dolphin Echo will come home once a month in this folder.
The Dolphin Echo is a monthly newsletter. It will have summary information about programs at school, important dates, news from the PTO and more.
School Messenger is an automated system that is connected to Power School. Through this system emails and phone calls can be pushed out to our school community. You can indicate your phone number preferences for messages and keep your email up to date through the Power School Parent Portal or by calling our office. This school year I am sending out a Monday announcement to parents trying to give a rundown of the upcoming activities.
We also utilize our Lima-Brighton Elementary Face Book page. There will be video or print announcements uploaded there weekly. Events are created for school events and community events that have been shared with us. This is also the best place to find pictures of the great things that are happening at Lima-Brighton.
Teachers are encouraged to contact parents often, not just for the negative! I would encourage parents to contact teachers often in the same way. Please let them know your concerns, but also share positive happenings. The easiest way to contact teachers is through email. All lakeland email addresses are 1st initial of first namelast email@example.com (for example mine is firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
